On August 16, about 174,000 O'ahu customers lost power.

Hurricane Lala knocked it out across the island. Most homes were back on within four days. Four days is a long time for a full fridge, a CPAP machine, or a house with no fans in August.

Food
A full fridge and freezer is hundreds of dollars you'd rather not throw out.

Health
CPAP machines, oxygen concentrators, and medicine that has to stay cold, especially for kupuna.

Home
Fans, Wi-Fi for work and school, and phones so you can get updates

A gas generator can do the job, but it's loud, it needs fuel you have to go find, and it can't run indoors. Most condos don't allow them at all. A portable power station runs silently right in your kitchen.

Which one do you need?

Start with what you want to keep running. The bar shows how long each one runs a typical fridge on its own.

A straight answer: the Elite 300 actually holds more than a base Apex 300, for less. Pick the Apex if you need to run bigger things like a stovetop, a window AC, or a 240V appliance, or if you want to add batteries later.

Add a solar panel and it keeps going. A panel or two refills the battery during the day, which can stretch a one-day battery into a week-long outage.

Still not sure? Text a photo of your fridge's label to (808) 425-9566 and we'll tell you which one fits.
Estimates based on Bluetti's own published figures, for a refrigerator averaging about 1 kWh a day. Your fridge, the heat, and how often the door opens will change it.

  • It's already on island

If you've tried finding these online, you realize pretty quick that large power stations like these either do not ship to Hawai'i or cost an arm and a leg while taking weeks to get here.

"After the last outage, a lot of the calls we got were from people who just wanted to keep their fridge and fans moving, but they couldn't get battery power stations shipped to them online. That's why we carry Bluetti."

Questions people ask before buying

Where do I pick up?

111 Sand Island Access Rd, Bay I-1, Honolulu, HI 96819. Mon–Fri, 9am–3pm. Closed weekends and holidays.

When can I come?

Wait for our "Ready for pickup" email. The date shown at checkout is an estimate. The email is the real signal. Bring your order number.

Do you ship?

No. Every order is picked up at our Honolulu shop. On a neighbor island? Call us first.

What does "Reserve from next shipment" mean?

That model is sold out in the shop, but more are on the next container. Order now and you're in line. We'll email you the day it's ready.

Can I pay over time?

Yes. Choose Shop Pay at checkout to split the cost into payments, subject to approval.

I have solar on the old NEM plan. Will this affect my HECO agreement?

No. A Bluetti charges from a regular wall outlet, like any appliance. Nothing to file with HECO, and nothing changes on your roof.

Can it connect to my home's wiring?

Yes, with a transfer switch installed by a licensed electrician. We do those installs. Text us for a quote.

Will it run a window AC?

The Apex 300 runs most window and portable units. The Elite models can run a small one, but it drains them in a few hours. Text us the model number and we'll give you a straight answer.

How do I charge it?

From a wall outlet (fastest), gas generator, solar panels, or your car.

What's the warranty?

Every unit carries Bluetti's manufacturer warranty. 5 years for the standalone power stations, 4 years for the B500K expansion unit, and 12 months for the solar panels.

Does Mālama assist with warranty service?

Yes. Mālama can help provide proof of purchase and assist customers with the warranty process. All warranty approvals, repairs, and replacements are subject to BLUETTI’s warranty terms.
